Take Responsibility

Your ability to achieve a physical goal is dependent on your mindset. You must take complete responsibility and own your current situation. Trainers, coaches, and gurus are only guides; they are not the answer. You are merely a practitioner working with a guide.

Do not become dependent and suffer the condition of guru worship; this will lead to a loss of self-sufficiency. In the process of building strength, we want to build confidence, and competency.

I've worked with clients, who even after a few years of coaching will ask, "I'm going on vacation next week, what should I do while I'm away?" I tell them, "Enjoy your vacation." Unless you are preparing for competition or athletic event, there is no need for your trainer to micromanage every aspect of you physical fitness.
